New Community Food Hub Building Completed

July 02, 2026

The Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub is celebrating the completion of its new 6,600-square-foot facility – a no-cost grocery store where local families facing food insecurity can access fresh, nutritious foods and essential staples with dignity. It opens to the public on August 19, 2026.

A new 15-by-30-foot refrigeration system will greatly expand our ability to receive, store and offer fresh produce and other perishable foods. The building also features a Kids Corner, funded by First 5 California, where children under five can sample fresh fruits and vegetables while families explore helpful early childhood education resources.

Our new Community Room will provide a welcoming meeting and gathering space for local organizations, neighbors and community partners.

Adding color and energy to the building is a beautiful mural designed and painted by Roxy Prima Johnson, a talented muralist whose work has transformed walls across the United States.

Special thanks to the Tankersley Builds and Greyscale Architecture team, whose dedication and expertise carried this important project across the finish line. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped turn this vision into a vibrant new home for healthy food, connection, and community.
